Tang Orange Pearl Is The Right Color For the Koenigsegg Jesko

This pre-production Koenigsegg Jesko scores a unique orange Finish that pays tribute to the CCR

I think we can all agree that certain cars are made for a certain color. When it comes to super-fast high-performance machines, there are usually two ways to go about it. Either go for a dark and sinister look (think of the Koenigsegg Thor and Vader models of the Agera) or you can go with a very bright, visible from 10 miles, exterior finish, which is exactly the case here. What we are looking at is a rare pre-production version of the Koenigsegg Jesko, finished in Tang Orange Pearl, with silver and carbon-fiber elements. This is actually a homage to the Koenigsegg CCR, which back in 2004, featured the exact same color scheme.

Koenigsegg, as a carmaker, has always taken pride, not only in its engineering but its interior finish as well. In true tradition, the interior is made of the highest quality materials and, despite being a hypercar, offers all the creature comforts you need. More importantly, it continues the same color scheme from the exterior, featuring contrasting orange accents from the best leather, subtle silver motives, and of course, lots of carbon fiber.

“We are very excited to showcase this pre-series Jesko in conjunction with the start of production of the 125 Jesko and Jesko Absolut customer cars. As part of our gradual expansion, the Jesko’s pre-assembly begins at an extended 10,000 square meter facility”, Founder and CEO Christian von Koenigsegg adds.

With any Koenigsegg, we have to mention performance and driving characteristics, which are simply mind-blowing. The Jesko is powered by an in-house-built 5.0-liter twin-turbo V-8, which makes about 1,600 horsepower (1,625 for the wingless Jesko Absolut) and 1,106 pound-feet (1,500 Nm).

Torque1,106 pound-feet.

Top speed300+ mph

The nine-speed LST (Light Speed Transmission) sends power to the rear wheels, said to be the next step in evolution for the double-clutch transmission. It’s currently believed to be the quickest-shifting gearbox in production and features seven wet clutches while retaining compact packaging. In addition, all Koenigsegg cars manage to be both visceral and predictable (except maybe the 2006 CCX).

The car will debut early in 2022 and we already know it will boast incredible numbers, the main one being the top speed of over 300 mph (483 km/h) for the Jesko Absolut. Until then, we are happy to bask in the beauty of the Tang Orange Pearl finish of the pre-production Jesko, which rivals the beauty of a sunset over the Andes.
